Blue Mountains and Beyond
- We had the pleasure of playing our first ever record shop. It was a jewelry store turned independent record shop in the western Sydney suburb of Richmond, only minutes from the base of the Blue Mountains. Despite being British Columbians and thus extremely spoiled by the grandeur of the Canadian Rockies, the Blue Mountains of New South Wales are nonetheless striking. Country Roads
- Allow me to paint a mental picture. On February 1st, we were on a bill with three other bands to host an evening called “Country Roads”. Ironically, it was in downtown Sydney and none of the bands were from the countryside. But it was the pleasant absurdity of four city bands building an outstanding night of folk, country, and Bluegrass that made “Country Roads” such a damn good time. There was: a female quartet singing country ballads, “a jungle folk” band laying down four-piece percussion motifs, ...

One of the great joys that we as a band experience is when we collaborate with friends from other artistic backgrounds. Only a week or so before leaving Vancouver on our first ever Australian tour, the four of us teamed up with two close friends, film makers Daniel Robbins and Gabe Adelman, to make a video series that we’ll be releasing over the coming months. - While we all pined for the cold wet Christmas that our beloved families were enjoying back in British Columbia, we had the luxury of going on a holiday mini tour with the lovely ladies known as Redbird and Ma Petite. And what’s better is that we got to be their backing band! Surely there is no better Christmas present than getting to play three sets of music a night, be on the road with great people, and be in a gorgeous country like Australia. Post Melbourne ...
